Utter Chaos

You oughta see my garage!!  Looks like a junk shop, albeit what I'd call a high class junk shop.  Finally getting around to that garage sale I first mentioned back in October.  I'm committed now, so no backing out.  Most everything is priced, unless I find more stuff to add.

The bad thing is that you have to gather everything up, put it on tables and price it.  Then, on the morning of the sale (in the wee hours, I might add), you have to put empty tables out on the driveway and then move every-little-piece out to those tables, and then move those tables out to the driveway and move more little pieces to them!   Whew.  Makes me tired to just think about it.  Got friends coming the afternoon before and staying over so they'll be here to help with the stepping and fetching the day of the sale.  Thank goodness.

We've decided we're going to keep the stained glass window.

This is the very first garage sale I've ever had so it ought to be a real learning experience.  Wish me good luck.

Y'all take care.

  1. You sure have some good friends to come and stay over to help out.
Garage sales are a lot of work but in the end it is so nice to get rid of things and have a bit of extra money. Enjoy! xo

  2. Good luck with this. We don't have garage sales in England but there is a big culture of 'car boot sales' in many areas. Same principal except you load up your car and squeeze everything in, then in the early hours cart everything into a school hall (or maybe just to the outside of your car if the weather is dry and the event is outdoors). Did it once, made a little bit of money but it was not a pleasant experience that I will be repeating any time soon.

  3. Good luck! lol. We had a huge moving sale when we moved back here from Alaska. Some friends from our church came out and did the whole thing for us. We were eternally grateful.

  5. Oh what a lot of work they (GS) are - but fun too, especially with 'buddies' to help and share the time (and torture lol) with!
Good choice to keep that stained glass window - so pretty - and because you have SUN there to shine thru it (lol) even better......

Hope all goes well my friend - keep us posted - looking forward to hearing all about it!

  6. Can I bring my bedroom set over there to sell? ;)

It's tough to have a garage sale, but it's soooo worth it to get rid of that stuff. Happy Selling!

  7. A garage sale is a lot of work but it can be a lot of fun! Especially when the dollars keep rolling in. Good save on the window! I love stained glass. :)

  9. I hope the yard sale was a success. You're much more energetic than I to have a yard sale. I'd rather just give the stuff away. :)
