Yes, in color |
I think as I've gotten older that I notice light and color in the days more. I remember as a child dancing around outside as the day waned on the farm in Florida, just enjoying how pretty the sunset and sky were. Then as we reach adulthood, we get busy with other things and forget to really see what is around us. Thankfully, I've always been fond of "nature" and so made an effort to get out and about in it. I spent lots of time in the desert when I lived in Las Vegas. Goes back to that farm girl raising. Then, after I got married, we traveled full time for over two years in our RV and it was glorious. Even after buying a house in Florida, we spent months every year on the road throughout the country. Good times.
Here on our mountainside, I never get tired of the steep slope of the hill behind us with the bare trees at a sharp angle in contrast. Or, the way the limbs move in the wind. When the leaves come, there will be a whole other tapestry of colors and shapes to inspect.

I highly recommend taking a minute to just look around and really see what is there.
Y'all take care.
Beautiful photos – especially that first one!
ReplyDeleteI like your thinking. I do this a lot...notice the small stuff and appreciate the little beauties that are among our everyday existence. There is a lot to see and appreciate.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of the snow is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about starting to notice, again, the things that have been around us all the time. We, too, have places on our little mountain where we can see beautiful sunsets, sunrises, start at night, etc. We have been generally too busy (or too depressed about politics...) to care. I think it would help our mood considerably to take the time. Girl, you are going to have a whole lot of bindings to do when you get all those quilts quilted! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI miss snow! I really would like just a few days of it a year - and I think my kids would too!
ReplyDeleteNice shots.
